Summer is here and we have been spending time getting our garden and porch ready for the season. We don't only have antiques inside our house, we also like to utilize them in the garden. Recently, we painted this repurposed bench bright blue to match our front door - it used to be an oak bed! We have also used large ceramic crocks as planters - they're so durable and a great size. Finding just the right antique items to put in your garden is a process. Though we have been collecting for years, we're still on the search for just the right thing to put in our flower garden!
Here are a few helpful things to consider as you are searching for antiques to go in your garden:
Decide on the overall style of your garden: English, Asian influenced, Classical, modern, natural etc. Use the style principles you choose to help you decide what type of antiques you would like to incorporate.
How much money would you pay for something that’s going to sit out in the weather? Keep in mind that these items will be consistently exposed to the elements.
Remember that lots of items, just like our bench, can be repurposed to suit your needs. Visit this link for some fun ideas: https://bit.ly/2XVMXCx
