Downsizing Services

Downsizing in today's world can be a daunting task. We offer a special service where Ken will spend one hour in your home with you in your home if you live within 30 miles of Charlottesville, Va. We often do multiple visits in single days in cities outside of that radius. We are usually in Richmond, Lynchburg, Williamsburg, Northern Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley and Southwest Virginia at least once a month.  Please note, we are open by appointment only but we can always be reached via phone or email. 

Below are some tips and other things to think about as you work to downsize:

Don't dust it!

Have you thought of putting special small items in glass front cases?  This eliminates the need to handle fragile items for cleaning and greatly reduces the chance of damage.  We can help decide what to put in the cabinets and where to find great vintage or new pieces for display.

Minimalism with your favorites

How about mixing modern with antiques? Minimize the number of items sitting on and under furniture.  What items in your house do you love?  Does seeing them frequently make you feel good?

The kids don't want it!

What do you keep, sell, give away or put in a dumpster? Are you hanging on to the kids baby clothes and elementary art projects for a reason? Have you worn all of your clothes in the last 3 years?
